Chain of custody commitment declaration

The Management of Marta has implemented a Chain of Custody Management System for our packaging solutions manufacturing process.

The implemented system describes all management and printing requirements for the control of the chain of custody, labelling and sale of certified products. It involves the assessment of forest products from the tree to the final product, including all stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing and handling, to verify that the paper and cardboard used originate from responsibly managed forests.

Marta declares that it is not directly or indirectly involved in any of the following activities:

  • Illegal logging or trade in illegal timber or forest products;
  • Violation of traditional and human rights in forestry operations;
  • Destruction of high conservation values in forestry operations;
  • Significant conversion of forests into plantations or other land uses;
  • Introduction of genetically modified organisms in forestry operations;
  • Violation of any of the ILO Fundamental Conventions, as defined in the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, 1998. Specifically:
    • It does not prevent workers from freely associating, electing their representatives or engaging in collective bargaining with the company.
    • It does not use forced labour.
    • It does not employ workers below the legal minimum working age.
    • It does not prevent equal opportunities and equal treatment for workers.
    • Working conditions do not endanger the safety or health of workers.

Marta also declares its commitment to the occupational health and safety of its employees.

Management provides the system with all the necessary human and material resources to comply with this declaration.
